5 AC Milan targets for the midfield

AC Milan are looking for a midfielder. The goal of Leonardo and Maldini is to find a player who can collect the legacy of Lucas Biglia and Montolivo for the present and also the future.

Sandro Tonali | Brescia

Sandro Tonali is 18 years old but eyes of the entire Italy are on him. The defensive midfielder is making a name for himself in Serie B playing with Brescia and his performances have not gone unnoticed by the Rossoneri.

Even though Tonali would represent a long-term replacement for Lucas Biglia he is already a regular starer for his team making 19 appearances last seasons and scoring 2 goals. He also guided Italy Under-19 in the final of UEFA’s European Under-19 Championship.

The young regista is often likened to Andrea Pirlo in terms of play style. The creative midfielder plays the central role in the 4-3-3 formation, and shows maturity beyond his age. Even if AC Milan decided to purchase another player Tonali’s name should remain high in the club’s list of targets for the future.
