CorSera: AC Milan make official offer for Barella

AC Milan have sped up negotiations for Nicolo Barella already proposing a very lucrative offer to Cagliari that exceeds Inter’s bid.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – The Rossoneri may have joined the race for Nicolo Barella only recently but have every intention of coming out victorious. La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport reported yesterday that AC Milan had contacted Cagliari to discuss the transfer of the 22-year-oldcentral midfielder.

Inter were considered favorites to land the services of Nicolo Barella. The city-rivals had already agreed personal terms with the player but not with Cagliari. The Sardinian club wants €50 million while Inter are unwilling to go beyond €35m. A situation that Milan are trying to exploit.

Il Corriere della Sera reports that AC Milan have presented Cagliari an opening offer of €35 million plus bonuses for Nicolo Barella. The Red and Blacks have exceeded Inter’s bid and, in addition, are willing to included a player from Milan Primavera in this operation.

AC Milan have sped up negotiations for the Italian midfielder after the insistence of Zvonimir Boban who considers the Cagliari star as the best in his role, in Italy. Boban will be the person in charge to take care transfer business in midfield. Despite his young age, Barella has made more than 100 appearances with Cagliari and is now a regular start with the Italian national team.

Dubbed the ‘next Steven Gerrard’ by the Italian press, Barella possesses great technique, vision, stamina, and physical strength, despite his relatively short stature. A versatile player that can cover any role in midfield.
