Second richest person in the world wants to buy AC Milan

According to reports from France, billionaire Bernard Arnault has expressed his interest in buying AC Milan club from Elliot.

MILAN NEWS – Gossip concerning the interest of some subjects to purchase AC Milan are not a novelty. Recently the Qatar Investment Authority, that controls PSG, was rumored for a potential takeover but this possibility was denied by Elliot.

Today Il Corriere dello Sport reveals a new name. French billionaire Bernard Arnault has apparently set his sights on AC Milan. Arnault is the richest man in Frence with assets of over 100 billion dollars. Financial magazine Bloomberg puts him in second place among the richest people in the world, with a wealth of 108 billion behind only Jeff Bezos (founder, president and CEO of Amazon) who leads with 125 billion.

For now there are no confirmations on Arnault’s real intent to buy Milan. Il Corriere dello Sport writes that the the 70-year-old entrepreneur, owner of the LVMH luxury group, has manifested his interest. The American fund Elliott Management Corporation, owner of the Rossoneri, so far has always denied rumors that it wants to sell the club.

Paul Singer’s hedge fund has set a medium-long term project to bring Milan back to the top. A plan that can be implemented over several years and that will lead to the on and off-pitch enhancement of the club before a resale. Only a particularly high offer by Arnault could tempt Elliott but at this time there are no official proposals.
