Bologna-Milan, probable lineups
AC Milan travel to Bologna immediately after the Europa League fiasco. A win is crucial and three points would put the Rossoneri in a comfortable position for Champions.
A return in the past for AC Milan. Today the Rossoneri face Bologna now coached by former club legend Filippo Inzaghi. In his second adventure in Serie A Super Pippo is struggling with Bologna who risk relegation. AC Milan on the other hand failed to qualify for the next phase of Europa League so must concentrate more in Serie A. Lazio’s yesterday defeat allows Milan to widen the distance with the fifth place.
Gattuso will deploy the same starting eleven we have seen in recent games. Gigio Donnarumma protects the goal while the four man defence in front of him doesn’t change. Zaptata and Ignazio Abate form the central duo while Ricardo Rodriguez and Davide Calabria complete the back line. Romagnoli and Musacchio have recovered and are training with the group but Gattuso doesn’t want to hurry their return on the pitch.
Gattuso’s choices in midfield are so limited that he wouldn’t make any changes even if the wanted too. The good news is the return of Suso on the right. In yesterday’s press conference Rino confirmed that the Spanish winger is full fit and will be available for Milan-Bologna.
A bit more complicated the situation on the other flank. Hakan Calhanoglu continues to underwhelm but the coach still sees him as favorite over Castillejo. The Spaniard seem to be in a good moment but Calhanoglu is more likely to start against Bologna. Like in recent games, Higuain and Cutrone must search for goals. The Argentine striker has not scored a goal in the last two months.
