Pioli preparing revolution for Milan-Spal

After the fiasco with Roma, coach Sefano Pioli is preparing a different squad for the upcoming Serie A match AC Milan vs Spal.

Positive results do not arrive and the performance of the squad does not improve. Even under the guidance of new coach Stefano Pioli AC Milan are unable to bounce back and clearly miss a fighting spirit. Yesterday at the Olimpico, the Rossoneri paid a heavy price for their lack of concentration. A courageous Roma squad, even though with many absent players, came out victorious.

There is no other choice for Milan than to look forward and on Thursday night the Rossoneri host Spal at the San Siro. Coach Stefano Pioli declared he was very unhappy about the team performance against Roma and he is expected to change a lot concerning the starting line-up.

There will certainly be more chances for those who remained on the bench yesterday. Andrea Conti has failed to exploit his opportunities. Against Roma and Lecce he was one of the worst performers on the pitch and will certainly be replaced by Davide Calabria. Calabria made the decisive error in Roma’s second goal but Pioli counts on him to turn the page.

In midfield Lucas Biglia and Lucas Paqueta continue to struggle. The Argentine can’t play every three days so Ismael Bennacer is likely to start in front of the defence. Against Spal, Bennacer will be in the control room with Rade Krunic probably on the right replacing Paqueta or Kessie. Pioli needs fresh elements for Milan-Spal.

The attack too should suffer some changes. Rafael Leao could rest and leave the centre forward position to Piatek. The Polish striker has started from the bench in the last two games against Spal and Roma. But the real surprise could be Ante Rebic. Suso has been a ghost so far so a pause on the bench could be useful for him to regain physical and mental lucidity. Pioli is reflecting, another false step is not an option.
