Tuttosport: AC Milan to replace Kessie with Serie A duo

AC Milan are looking to sell Franck Kessie this summer and replace him with two signings: Seko Fofana and Rade Krunic.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – The AC Milan department that needs most investments this summer is certainly the midfield after the departures of Bertolacci, Montolivo and Jose Mauri. AC Milan will also be without Bakayoko next season. The Rossoneri did not sign the French midfielder on a permanent deal despite his excellent performances. Bakayoko has returned to Chelsea. At the moment, the only midfielders available are Kessie, Biglia, Calhanoglu, Lucas Paqueta and Bonaventura, with the latter out until September or October. During the summer transfer window, AC Milan at least two or three new signings to complete the midfield.

According to Tuttosport, not all the players currently in the squad are certain to stay. Among these is for example Franck Kessie, who is valued at 40 million euros by AC Milan. The Rossoneri could decide to sacrifice the 22-year-old and make an important capital gain since his cost on the budget is just 19 million.

There is no shortage of admirers on the Ivorian, especially in England where he is highly appreciated. Tottenham and Arsenal are the most interested clubs while Atletico Madrid are also monitoring the situation. His sale would produce a capital gain of 20 million, a figure that the Rossoneri club would like to use to sign not one, but rather two possible substitutes for Franck Kessie.

Tuttosport reports that Seko Fofana of Udinese and Rade Krunic of Empoli are the names AC Milan are considering. Fofana is a former player of Manchester City that has similar characteristics to Kessie. The 24-year-old can cover many positions in midfield and Udinese value him 15 million euros. Juventus are also interested in Seko Fofana. Milan hope to close a deal for 12-13 million.

Rade Krunic on the other hand is a 25-year-old Bosnia international with different characteristics. He is a central midfielder that contributes a lot in attack. This season, Krunic made 33 Serie A appearances scoring 5 goals and assisting 6. It was soon-to-be AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo who brought him at Empoli in 2015. Empoli value Krunic at around 8 million euros.
