AC Milan and Roma are pondering a sensation striker swap deal after both spend figure of around €30 million for each player.
AC Milan recently announced the signing of Samule Ricci from Torino for a fee of €25 million, bonuses included. Luka Modric will be the Rossoneri’s second signing with the Croatian legend joining immediately after the Club World Cup is over. Ardon Jashari is the last missing piece of the midfield puzzle with AC Milan pressuring to close an agreement within next week.
Once the Jashari deal has been confirmed the Rossoneri will shift their of focus in attack. AC Milan have already bid farewell to Luka Jovic, Tammy Abraham and Francesco Camarda leaving only Santiago Gimenez under Allegri’s orders. The Italian club will definitely sign another centre forward but there are no guarantees on the performance of Santiago Gimenez as the Mexican star has not appreciated Milan’s statements to bring in another forward to compete for a starting spot.
In recent days a striker swap deal has attracted a lot of interest. Roma are offering Artem Dovbyk in exchange for Santiago Gimenez. New Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini appreciates a lot Gimenez and considers him as the perfect striker for his style of play. Massimiliano Allegri is not crazy about Gimenez and would be open to sanction his exit and perhaps Dovbyk is a better suited player to his idea of football.
Dovbyk is a striker characterized by a physical and aggressive approach to attacking space, speed, quick thinking, and strong finishing ability, with a particular strength in poaching and finding the back of the net from inside the penalty area. He is also known for his ability to hold off defenders, spin around them to attack space in behind, and contribute to build-up play by offering passing options and linking up with teammates. Characteristics that a appreciated a lot by coach Allegri.
While not a big success Dovbyk recorded 17 goals and 4 assists in his first season in Italy while Gimenez scored 6 and assisted 3 in his first half a year at Milan. Both player have a similar market value of around €30 million. That important options on Igli Tare’s list of centre forward targets are Lorenzo Lucca and Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus striker is on the market for 20 million but his high salary has put off all his suitors so far.
