Two options how AC Milan can sign Barella

AC Milan could offer Cagliari striker Patrick Cutrone plus cash for the services of defensive midfielder Nicolo Barella.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan are late but the Rososneri are still trying. La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport confirm that AC Milan are trying to sign Cagliari star Nicolo Barella, a player Inter are desperate to bring that San Siro. According to the Italian newspapers, AC Milan have contacted Cagliari promising a rich bid for the young midfielder.

Inter have already agreed personal terms with Barella but there is a lot of distance with Cagliari. Cagliari value the Italy international €50 million but are willing to accept technical counterparts as part of the operation. Inter on the other hand are not willing to invest more that €35 million for Barella. A considerable distance that Milan are trying to exploit and snatch Barella from the city-rivals.

The key to success for Milan could be Patrick Cutrone, a player that Cagliari would gladly accept as part of the deal. In addition to Cutrone, AC Milan could offer a figure of €20 million that would bring the total fee at 50 million.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals that the Italian defensive midfielder is a specific request of Zvonimir Boban. Boban will join Paolo Maldini’s staff and will be responsible for every signing in midfield. Maldini and Boban have asked Elliot to make a sacrifice for Nicolo Barella, dubbed the ‘next Steven Gerrard’.

The two consider the 22-year-old Italian as the best talent of Serie A and would like to build the midfield department around him. Another alternative, option B, is to offer Cagliari 40 million plus a player from Milan Primavera. Even this scenario would be pleasing for Cagliari.
