AC Milan close Ardon Jashari signing in record breaking deal
AC Milan are closing the signing of Ardon Jashari from Brugge after a long and difficult negotiation with the Belgian club.
Today was the presentation day of Luka Maodric in front of the press. However, an even bigger event took place later in the evening. That is because after two months of tense and highly publicized negotiations, AC Milan have completed the signing of Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge. An agreement has finally been found between the Rossoneri and the Belgian club with formal steps to follow soon.
AC Milan will pay an initial fee of €33.5 million for Jashari but with add-ons the transfer is expected to cost around €38 million. The key to unlocking the situation was a meeting that was held between Jashari with the Club Brugge’s management. Ardon reiterated that he would reject any other destination, including the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League. He emphasized his desire to join only AC Milan and the promise he had been made to sell him in the face of a record transfer offer for the Belgian league.
In fact, Ardon Jashari’s transfer fee will eclipse that of Charles De Ketelaere who as well moved from Club Brugge to AC Milan. A record breaking transfer for both clubs and also for the Belgian league. The two clubs are now defining the payment method and installments. The 23-year-old Swiss central midfielder hopes to arrive in Italy in the next 48 hours to undergo medicals and will likely be available for the Coppa Italia match of 17 August against Bari.
Ardon Jashari will put pen to paper on a five-year contract at 2.4 million per year million euros per season. He was the last missing puzzle of what will be AC Milan’s revamped midfield for next season with coach Massimiliano Allegri set to rely a lot in the new trio Jashari-Modric-Ricci. With the Jashari deal set to be completed really soon, the Rossoneri will abandon the pursuit of Valencia gem Javi Guerra who was always the plan B.
Tare and Allegri had made Ardon Jashari their number one target, strongly confident that he will have a big impact at San Siro. The talented midfielder had a sensational last season with Brugge. He scored 4 goals and assisted 6 guiding Club Brugge to Belgian Cup victory and some great performances in the Champions League. He excelled in Champions against Atalanta putting Ederson, one of the best Serie A midfielders, into great difficulty on both knock-out matches. For all his efforts, Ardon Jashari was named the Player of the Year in Belgium for last season.
