AC Milan in advanced talks to sell Sandro Tonali

AC Milan are in talks with Newcastle for Sandro Tonali. A riche contract has been offered to the Italian midfielder currently busy in EURO U-21.

The summer transfer window is entering a crucial for the Rossoneri. As already reported by acmilaninfo.com, no AC Milan player is unsellable. Gerry Cardinale considers every player on the market for the right price. Such a moment seems to have arrived for one of Milan’s key players in the last seasons, Sandro Tonali.

Newcastle are ready to break the bank and sign Sandro Tonali this summer. The Premier League club are in advanced negotiations with AC Milan to find an agreement on the transfer of the 23-year-old Italian midfielder. Tonali is currently busy in the EURO U-21 but he too has been contacted by the Magpies.

Newcastle are currently offering a fee of €60-65 million to Sandro Tonali. That’s unlikely to be accepted by the Rossoneri but the management has already informed the Premier League club that they are open to negotiate the sale of Tonali for a high fee. The right price could be around €75 million.

Initially it seemed that it would be Theo Hernandez the player to be sacrificed but circumstances have changed. Much will also depend on the will of Tonali himself. Newcastle are tempting the Italian midfielder with a contract of €8 million per season, that’s more than twice of what he is already earning at AC Milan. Tonali’s agent Giuseppe Riso had a meeting with the AC Milan management today to assess the situation.

Having secured a place in the top four this year and Champions League football for next season, Newcastle are looking to build a more competitive squad. The Magpies are backed on the market by Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman so it his highly likely they will have no problem meeting AC Milan’s asking price of around €80 million for Sandro Tonali.

The 23-year-old central midfielder was one of AC Milan’s few brightest spots in a season full of ups and downs. Tonali made 48 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 10 assists. In parallel with Newcastle, AC Milan have opened talks with Sassuolo for Davide Frattesi. Frattesi could be the substitute of Tonali at AC Milan.
