AC Milan to close midfielder signing within May

AC Milan have made progress in talks with Renato Sanches. The Portuguese midfielder has chosen Milan as his next club.

AC Milan have been working for months to purchase Portuguese star Renato Sanches. The Rossoneri have reached a total agreement with Lille for a fixed fee of 20 million euros plus add-on up to €5 million. Now the Rossoneri are in advanced talks to agree personal terms with the 24-year-old central midfielder.

For a long time AC Milan have considered Renato Sanches as the perfect replacemet for Franck Kessie who will join Barcelona once the season is over. The Italian club aims to close everything by the end of May and important signals have arrived on the positive outcome of negotiations.

Calciomercato reports that Renato Sanches has chosen AC Milan as his next club. The Portuguese wants to reteam with his good friend Mike Maignan and could be joined in the Rossoneri adventure also by current team-mate Sven Botman.

Significant progress has been made in the last talks with Jorge Mendes. The Portuguese agent is currently asking a lower salary for his client than the 5 million requested in January when the transfer fell through at the very last moment.

In addition, Jorge Mendes is following with great curiosity and attention the possible sale of the club to Investcorp. The powerful Portuguese agent could form a possible alliance with the Rossoneri just like he has done with Manchester City, Wolverhampton and Porto.
