AC Milan make offer to Di Francesco
Eusebio Di Francesco is the most likely name to succeed Gattuso as AC Milan coach. The Rossoneri have reportedly offered him a contract of €3 million per season.
As explained many times before, Gennaro Gattuso will no longer be coach of AC Milan after the end of the season. Even if the Rossoneri close the season in the top four and qualify for Champions League Rino will leave and a new coach will take his place, probably Eusebio Di Francesco.
According to SportMediaset, Di Francesco is the main candidate for the Milan bench. The former Roma and Sassuolo coach is Leonardo’s top pick. The Brazilian sporting director appreciates Di Francesco’s work with young players and his attacking style of play.
The Italian press reports that AC Milan have offered Di Francesco a contract of 3 million euros per season. Gennaro Gattuso currently ears a bit more than 2 million euros and has a contract until 2021.
There is still time to close a deal but it seems like the reason why AC Milan aren’t in a hurry is because the club is waiting to understand what will happen with Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Italian coach of Atalanta is Di Francesco’s alternative. If Atalanta qualify for Champions it’s very likely he will continue with the Bergamo club but if the fourth place goes to Milan the Rossoneri would be a very appealing option for Gasperini. Conte seems closer to Inter, Pochettino is an impossible idea, while Sarri has declared he wants to stay at Chelsea.
