AC Milan star is Barcelona’s favorite Haaland alternative

Barcelona are looking at AC Milan for reinforcements in attack after accepting defeat in Haaland pursuit.

Franck Kessie has decided to leave AC Milan after five years at San Siro. The Ivorian central midfielder will join Barcelona on a free transfer as confirmed by president Joan Laporta and Sergio Busquets. However, Kessie is not the only AC Milan player on Barcelona’s radar.

Marca reports that Barcelona are seriously interested in AC Milan left winger Rafael Leao. The La Liga giants are working to strengthen their attack for next season and president Joan Laporta is a big admirer of Leao according to the Spanish newspaper.

Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski are believed to be the two top targets for Barcelona, but the club are well aware of the financial implications of signing any one of them. Rafael Leao is Laporta’s favorite Haaland alternative reports Marca. Gabriel Jesus are Darwin Nunez are part of the list but neither has an affordable price tag.

The 22-year-old is having his best season and has been involved in 18 goals in all competitions. The Portuguese is regarded as one of the most promising attackers in Serie A. AC Milan have no intention to part ways with one of their mot prized assets. The Rossoneri have offered him a new contract but so far talks have been unsuccessful.

AC Milan are offering Leao 4.5 million euros per season, bonuses included. Despite the initial optimism, the left winger has not put pen to paper on a new contract. The player is reportedly asking for more money as his problems with Sporting Lisbon have yet to be resolved.
