AC Milan’s only obstacle in signing Morata

Alvaro Morata remains a priority target of AC Milan this summer and while negotiations continue the club is struggling to match his wage demands.

The 25 year old Spanish centre forward is one AC Milan’s top targets for the attack. The Rossoneri want to bring at San Siro for next season a player that can guarantee a significant number of goals for the squad. The club considers the profile of Morata as ideal for the game of coach Gennaro Gattuso.

However, reaching an agreement has proven to be difficult so far. SportItalia reports that the main obstacle of this operation is the player’s wage demand. The Spain international wants to become AC Milan’s highest paid player and demands around 10 million euros per season, a figure that  could be too much for the Serie A giants.

Morata transferred to Chelsea last summer for a fee of 80 million euros but wants to change club after just one season in England. Chelsea are willing to negotiate his sale for around 60 million euros, the same figure AC Milan were prepared to pay to Real Madrid last year. While Morata will be willing to join the Rossoneri and the club want to sign him, his wage demands are putting AC Milan off from doing a possible deal with Chelsea.
