Barcelona halve the asking price for AC Milan target

Barcelona left back Junior Firpo is high on AC Milan’s list of targets as Theo’s back-up, especially now that his price has halved.

One of AC Milan’s January priorities was the signing of a new left back. The primary target of the Rossoneri was Barcelona’s Junior Firpo. An agreement seemed very close but things collapsed at the last moment due to personal circumstance for the player.

At the end, Milan preferred not to bring in a new defender and postpone the signing of a left back for the summer. The situation of the Spanish defender has evolved but he still remains one of Paolo Maldini’s choices as back-up for Theo Hernandez on the left.

The 24-year-old has played a minor role under Ronald Koeman and is determined to change club in the summer. He has made 17 appearances this season but very rarely featuring from the start.

According to reports from todofichajes (via MilanLive), Barcelona have informed AC Milan that Junior Firpo is back on the market but for a much lower fee this time. In January, Barca asked at least 20 million for their defender while now they would be glad to collect 15 million because the realistic price tag is 10 million.

Besides AC Milan, Napoli are another Italian team interested in Firpo. Gattuso’s clubs is also monitoring the situation of Diogo Dalot whose permanent signing from the Rossoneri seems unlikely.
