Donnarumma in tears after meeting with Curva Sud fans

A tense meeting took place at Milanello yesterday between Gianluigi Donnarumma and a group of fans from Curva Sud.

Yesterday, just before lunch, a delegation of fans from Curva Sud gathered outside the Milanello sports center. They asked for a meeting with Rossoneri goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. After the initial refusal, also for reasons of public order, he went out and met the delegation of fans.

Donnarumma is being criticized for being unclear about the renewal issue that could have implications for the rest of the club. AC Milan have offered the 22-year-old goalkeeper a long-term contract of 8 million euros per year (including bonuses). A generous proposal to try to convince Gigio not to leave the Rossoneri as free agent.

Donnarumma has given no answer so far, perhaps conditioned by his agent Mino Raiola. For this reason, the ultras who went yesterday at the gates of Milanello wanted to “encourage” Donnarumma to renew. Otherwise they asked him not to play the next match against Juventus since Juve are rumored as his next club.

Corriere della Sera reports that the meeting with the fans was tense. Gianluigi Donnarumma admitted that he has not decided anything yet. He has yet to choose whether he will sign a contract extension or not. Gigio is still considering all options.

Strong words were exchanged between Donnarumma and the Curva Sud fans and the situation was tense. Gianluigi Donnarumma left in tears after the meeting with the ultras according to CorSera (via MilanNews.it). The Italian goalkeeper felt pressured by the club to accept the meeting.
