From Spain: Inter plan to raid AC Milan again

Inter have reportedly joined the race for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie who is destined to become a free agent at the end of the season.

So much disappointment and anger at Franck Kessie’s refusal to renew his contract. The whole Rossoneri environment, and beyond, judges the Ivorian’s behavior to be really not correct. Just a few weeks ago, “the President” had declared to La Gazzetta dello Sport that he wanted to stay at AC Milan for life, and that once he returned from the Olympics he would have signed the contract extension.

This was not the case and now the situation is in turmoil. AC Milan have offered Kessie a new deal at 6.5 million euros per season but the player and his entourage refused and are asking 8.5 million euros. Really shocking claims if we consider that Franck currently earns €2.2 million per season and has only been performing at the highest levels in the last year and a half.

PSG, Tottenham and Liverpool are very interested in his services while an Italian club has joined the race according to reports. Todofichajes writes that Inter have never abandoned the Kessie track. The Nerazzurri are looking to offload Arturo Vidal and want the Ivorian midfielder to take his place.

Inter director Giuseppe Marotta wants to repeat what happen with Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkish attacking midfielder decided no to renew his contract with the Rossoneri and join the city-rivals instead on a free transfer. Franck Kessie is an old transfer target of Inter and Antonio Conte tried to sign him offering Vecino in a swap deal. The offer was rejected by Milan.

Nevertheless, Kessie’s demands are quite high and it looks unlikely for Inter to match them. The Nerazzurri have money to spend after selling Hakimi and Lukaku but even they can’t afford to make the central midfielder the highest paid player in Serie A. Paris Saint-Germain are the most likely destination for the former Atalanta.
