Here’s what Neymar thinks of Lucas Paqueta
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar is backing AC Milan new signing Lucas Paqueta for success in Europe.
The news that AC Milan signed Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo for 35 million euros plus bonuses made headlines yesterday. The entire Brazilian and Italian press dedicated lots of space in their columns to the surprising purchase of the 21 year old star. Surprising because many were expecting Paqueta to join the oil-rich PSG instead.
For a long time the French club were considered favorites for his services. The Qatar-backed Paris Saint-Germain went as far as to use their main star, Neymar Jr, as an intermediary in an attempt to lure Paqueta in Paris. A move that proved unsuccessful all thanks to AC Milan sporting director Leonardo.
However that doesn’t affect the huge consideration the Brazil captain has for the new signing of the Rososneri. Last week, on the eve of the Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade, Neymar said: “Paqueta? He is a great player and I know his qualities. I’m sure he will be a crack“.
