Injury updates on Ibra, Calha, Bennacer and Rebic

AC Milan’s important win against Roma was costly with Calhanoglu, Ibrahimovic, Saelemaekers and Rebic suffering injuries.

The Rossoneri’s beautiful victory yesterday against Roma was certainly a great signal that AC Milan are still in the race for the Scudetto. This Milan is alive and wants to fight until the end to reach the goals set. Unfortunately, in addition to the success and the three points, Milan returned home with four injured players.

Hakan Calhanoglu, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Saelemaekers and Ante Rebic left the match in second half due to injuries. Four important players in addition to Bennacer e Mandzukic who were not even on the squad list.

According to Sky Sport, Ibrahimovic and Calhanoglu will certainly miss the upcoming matches against Udinese and Hellas Verona. The Swedish centre forward is expected to stay out about two weeks are estimated and he hopefully he will return just in time for the second Europa League match against Manchester United on March 18.

Calhanoglu, on the other hand, should have a recovery time of around a week. The Turkish attacking midfielder could return in time the first leg at Old Trafford, against Manchester United, on 11 March.

Mario Mandzukic and Ismael Bennacer are also expected to miss Udinese and Verona. The two should be available, just like Calhanoglu, for the first Europa League match with Manchester United in England.

The only good news is the condition of Ante Rebic. The Croatian winger left the match after a slight bruise on his hip but no problems were detected. Fortunately, Rebic will be under Stefano Pioli’s orders. No problems either for Saelemaekers.
