Nikola Kalinic will be the player to replace Carlos Bacca in attack. AC Milan and Fiorentina have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Croatian striker.

In the coming hours, Nikola Kalinic will become a new AC Milan player. According to Premium Sport, Fiorentina will receive 25 million euros plus bonuses for his services. Initially it was planed that Luca Antonelli would move in the opposite direction but the player refused to move in Firenze. The Croatian 29 year old striker will sign a four year contract of three million euros per season plus performance related bonuses. He is expected to arrive in Milano on Thursday. Kalinic will take the vacant spot left empty by Carlos Bacca who returned in Spain to Villarreal (read here).

The centre forward was a target of the rossoneri for a long time. The red and black club had agreed personal terms with the player a month ago but they decided to wait for further developments regarding Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti. Negotiating with Fiorentina proved to be difficult, the viola insisted on their initial request of 30 million euros, plus a player, in exchange for Kalinic. While the player on the other hand made it clear many times that San Siro was his only preferred destination rejecting several offers, including a late offer from Everton.

Nikola Kalinic joined Fiorentina in 2015 for 5,5 million euros and made his Serie A debut in a 2-0 win against AC Milan. He was Fiorentina’s main attacker for two years and in the last season the 29 year old striker scored 20 goals in 42 games. Despite his arrival the rossoneri have no intention to stop here. Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli want to bring a second centre forward in San Siro.
