AC Milan consider new name for the defence

Fiorentina centre back and Argentine international German Pezzella is the new name AC Milan are considering for the defence.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – With the departure of Cristian Zapata, Ignazio abate and Mattia Caldara unavailable for long, AC Milan need to sign a new centre back. After Theo Hernandez, the Rossoneri are is search of another purchase to complete the back line with German Pezzella the new name.

The Rososneri appreciate Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren but aren’t willing to invest a lot for a 30-year-old player. Gianluca Mancini was perhaps Paolo Maldini’s top pick but the young Atalana defender costs 30 million euros and will likely join Roma. Thus Fiorentina’s defender is the new name in Rossoneri’s orbit.

New AC Milan coach Giampaolo values the 28-year-old centre back and believes that Pezzella could bring necessary experience to a young squad like AC Milan. Martin Guastadisegno, agent of Pezzella, was at Casa Milan to meet Maldini and discuss a transfer for the Argentile international.

Fiorentina have slapped a €18 million for their captain. Pezzella could become the second potential transfer between the Viola and AC Milan after Jordan Veretout. German Pezzella was the starting centre back of the Argentine national team that reached the semi-finals of Copa America and placed third.

Fiorentina signed the “the tank” on a permanent for nearly €10 million from Real Betis last year. The 28-year-old has made 66 Serie A appearances in two years in Italy. Despite his good performances it seems unlikely that Milan match Fiorentina’s asking price.
