Maldini: ‘Here’s our transfer priority’

Interviewed by Sky Sport before AC Milan-Bologna, Paolo Maldini spoke of the transfer priority of the club and seasonal goals.

AC Milan start the season on the right foot. After the 2-0 win against Shamrock Rovers, the Rossoneri repeat themselves in Serie A with another 2-0 victory against Bologna.

Just minutes before the kick-off against Bologna, Paolo Maldini spoke with Sky Sport regarding the transfer plans of the club and the seasonal ambitions of the Rososneri.

As a director there is always something to learn and improve – he begins – The proclamations have been talking about Champions League for many years but we haven’t been there for the last seven years. Last season something different was created, now we have to see the fruits. We were asked to try for Champions. There are better equipped teams but we do not set limits to ourselves”.

A new defender is the priority – “We have a clear idea of how to build the team – continues Maldini – We also look at the balance sheet and the amount of salaries. We are consistent with what we did last year.

We still have two qualifying rounds of the Europa League. The biggest need of the team is a central defender. We are focused on that. Ajer and Milenkovic? There are others, they are not the names we are working on. We are calm in midfield with Tonali“.
