AC Milan transfer target excels in Champions

AC Milan transfer target Dani Olmo was in excellent form yesterday leading Dinamo Zagreb to spectacular win against Atalanta.

The first round of the Champions League group stage has already revealed the “surprise” team of the moment: Dinamo Zagreb. The Croatians thrashed Atalanta 4-0 yesterday in Zagreb. One of the protagonists of the evening was Dani Olmo. The Spaniard of Dinamo Zagreb did not score but he was among the best on the field with his performance.

Dani Olmo made a name for himself this summer in the European Under-21 Championship. The talented attacking midfielder led Spain towards the trophy with some great displays. Despite being one of the most wanted players on the market this summer, Dinamo Zagreb surprisingly rejected all offers and Olmo remained in Croatia.

AC Milan is one of the teams that has followed Dani Olmo for a long time. The Rossoneri have been on his trail since Leonardo was the sporting director of the club. But even with Maldini and Boban, AC Milan’s interest in Olmo hasn’t cooled off reports Calciomercato.

The player was not happy to see several bids for his services rejected by Dinamo Zagreb, who wanted €35 million to let him go, and publicly revealed his desire to change club in the near future. If he continues to perform like against Atalanta, certainly interest in him will increase.

AC Milan are monitoring the situation. Dani Olmo favors the Rossoneri as his next destination and admitted that a move was probable during the summer “We will see that happens but Milan is a great club”. With his contract expiring in 18 months Dinamo will be much more willing to negotiate this time.
