Barcelona star offered to AC Milan

Barcelona have offered Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho to AC Milan. The Rossoneri are in need of a new attacking midfielder.

AC Milan and Barcelona have been in contact for days trying to find an agreement for Junior Firpo. The Spanish left-back is the chosen one for the role of Theo Hernandez’s back-up. However, the name of Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho has been mentioned in the talks between the two clubs.

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that the Rossoneri have inquired about the 29-year-old attacking midfielder. However, according to reliable sources from Italy, it’s Barcelona who have offered Philippe Coutinho to AC Milan.

Coutinho is not part of Ronald Koeman’s plans for next season and the Blaugrana are looking to offload their most expensive signing ever. The former Liverpool is aware of the situation and is looking for a new club.

Barcelona are open to let Coutinho leave on loan this summer. However, his salary of around 12 million per season is a problem for every interested club, including AC Milan. The Rossoneri need to sign a new attacking midfielder this summer after Hakan Calhanoglu left to join Inter.

Although Barcelona are willing to offer favorable terms for Coutinho, the Brazilian is far from his best. Since joining the Spanish giants for a record breaking fee of €140 million, the Brazilian has been unable to replicate his Liverpool form. Last season he just 14 apparances, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2. Maldini does not look convinced.
