PSG owners specifically ask Leonardo to sign Milan star

AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer remains a top transfer target of PSG with the owners specifically asking Leonardo to sign him.

Leonardo continues to hunt in Serie A. Former AC Milan sporting director, current in France at PSG, wants to snatch a midfielder from the Italian league.

According to Le10sport.comthere are three names that Leonardo would be working on personally, three midfielders to strengthen Paris Saint-Germain. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio, Roma’s maestro Lorenzo Pellegrini and the Franco-Algerian midfielder of AC Milan Ismael Bennacer.

Precisely Bennacer could become the primary name to reinforce the midfield of PSG. The reason? PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi himself is pushing for the purchase of Ismael Bennacer.

The owner of PSG, or rather the head of the Qatari consortium that manages the Parisian club, would have let Leonardo know he considers Bennacer the best choice to reinforce the Ligue 1 giants. Therefore a concrete danger for Milan who value Bennacer a lot and in theory consider him an untouchable player.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder was named the best footballer of the African Cup in 2019. Joining PSG would be a return to his homeland for the former Empoli midfielder who started his career at Arles before moving to Arsenal.

PSG have seen a first €30 million bid rejected by AC Milan. The Rossoneri spent 16 million to buy the young midfielder from Empoli last summer. However, PSG must increase their offer considerably in order to really tempt the Rossoneri to sell one of their best players.
