Sampdoria president confirms Giampaolo to Milan

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero confirms that Marco Giampaolo will be the new coach of AC Milan .

At this point there is no doubt, Marco Giampaolo will be the new coach of AC Milan. Paolo Maldini is working to complete his staff with Zvonimir Boban and Igli Tare as sporting director likely to join the Rossoneri soon.

Regarding Giampaolo, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero confirms the passing of the Italian coach to Milan. “I talked with Giampaolo and he told me that he goes on vacation and we will met on Monday. He is still under contract with me. I read that he will go to Milan and I can say that Milan are making a big signing. I repeat, I can’t stop a person who flies high up after Sampdoria and goes to a top club“.

Former Inter coach Stefano Pioli will replace Giampaolo at Sampdria. “He is a great coach, a very nice person. I had the opportunity to meet him three years ago. Will he be the new coach? Very likely“, said Ferrero for Telenord.

Ferrero also reveals that the appointment of Giampaolo will take place next week. Meanwhile, Sky Sport reports that Giampaolo and Paolo Maldini are in continuous contacts discussing the upcoming transfer movement.

It’s very likely, reports Il Secolo XIX, that AC Milan pay a small “indemnification” to Sampdoria.
