AC Milan are planning the upcoming summer campaign but a lot will depend on the possible Champions League qualification.
Qualification for the Champions League, or not, will change significantly AC Milan’s budget for the upcoming summer transfer window, but not the roles in which the management intends to intervene.
New arrivals are expected in every department. In goal everything will depend on the renewal of Gigio Donnarumma, with Mike Maignan of Lille already “blocked” as his possible successor. Many defenders could leave at the end of the season but the more interesting changes are expected in attack.
At least one new attacking midfielder could join the Rossoneri. The permanence of both Hakan Calhanoglu and Brahim Diaz is in doubt for different reasons. The Turkey international is about to become a free agent and his contract has not been renewed yet while for the Spanish talent AC Milan must negotiate with Real Madrid.
Sky Sport reports that AC Milan would like to keep the Spanish midfielder, at least on loan for another season. And speaking of Spaniards, Samuel Castillejo will certainly leave and a new left-footed right winger will take his place.
A new center forward will also arrive since Mario Mandzukic’s contract will not be extended. The Rossoneri need a back-up for Zlatan Ibrahimovic who offers guarantees both physically and in terms of goals. With Champions League qualification it would be possible to make an important investment of more than 30 millions. Otherwise the management will fish for a low cost striker. In recent days the name of Olivier Giroud has emerged. The Chelsea striker becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
Various sources have confirmed AC Milan’s serious interest in Amine Adli. The 21-year-old French striker of Toulouse was recently named the MVP of Ligue 1 attracting the attention of many European clubs. His preferred role is second striker but he has often been deployed on the right wing.
