Paolo Maldini’s BIG transfer dilemma

Paolo Maldini has to make a very tough decision whether to sacrifice Suso this summer and sign Angel Correa or keep the Spaniard at AC Milan.

MILAN NEWS – After one year of apprenticeship under Leonardo’s wing, AC Milan promoted club legend Paolo Maldini to technical director and now the former number 3 is in charge of the transfer business at the Rossoneri.

So far AC Milan have signed Rade Krunic, Ismael Bennacer, Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao and Leo Duarte. Five players have arrived at San Siro but the Red and Blacks aim to purchase one more until the end of the summer transfer window: Atletico Madrid star Angel Correa. However, Maldini must think twice before green-lighting a move for the Argentine striker.

And that’s because his arrival means that Suso must bid farewell to Milan. Suso and Correa, or, Suso or Correa. With Donnarumma, Kessie and Andre Silva destined to stay at San Siro, Milan could only fund a move for the Argentine striker with that sale of an important player. At this point Suso is the most likely candidate to depart.

Another risk from the sale of Suso and his replacement with Correa is the danger of delegitimizing new coach Marco Giampaolo. Giampaolo said he’s in love with the Spanish star: “Suso is top class. He is a strong player and we have to keep the top players. I said this to the club and to him. It’s not an issue. He drives me crazy and he is a player that can be decisive”. It would be a negative message towards Giampaolo and the fans. “The coach at Milan has relative importance. We have decided to sell the player and the opinion of the coach is not that essential“.

An embarrassing situation for Giampaolo who would make a really bad figure. Of course, if in the end AC Milan really decide to sell Suso despite Giampaolo’s statements in public. But making a bad figure in public is not the most important issue.

Coach Giampaolo has been working with Jesus Suso for the past month and training the right winger to play as trequartista. With the start of Serie A not that far, AC Milan risk throwing one month’s work in the trash and restarting everything with a new player. A very delicate case for Maldini and Boban to solve… and quickly.
