AC Milan open talks for Brazilian striker

AC Milan have joined the race for Brazilian prodigy Kaio Jorge. The Santos star is available for €10 million.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for at least two months after surgery, AC Milan look forced to sign two more strikers to strengthen the squad. Olivier Giroud’s name does not look as relevant as before because Chelsea seem determined to keep him.

Rossoneri technical director Paolo Maldini is looking around and considering other hypotheses. According to reports from Brazil (via MilanLive.it), AC Milan are interested in Santos starlet Kaio Jorge.

Both Milan and Juventus have opened talks with Jorge’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci. The contract situation of Kaio Jorge is quite favorable for interested clubs because the Brazilian prodigy becomes a free agent in six months, on 31 December.

Santos have put Kaio Jorge on the market for ‘just’ 10 million euros despite having a €50 million release clause. A bargain fee for a striker that is considered to be a generational talent and is expected to follow in Neymar’s footsteps. He played a big part in Santos reaching the Libertadores final and guided Brazil U-17 to winning the World Cup.

Europe is the natural next step for Jorge. Many European clubs are after his services but whichever club guarantees the Brazilian more play time will be in a more advantageous position.
