Agent of Chelsea star reveals contacts with AC Milan
The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho reveals that he has had contacts with AC Milan sporting director Massara.
Many clubs are using this period of international break to concentrate on the mercato. AC Milan are one of the most active clubs. Maldini and Massara are in contact with a number of players. The Rossoneri’s midfield is expected to have interesting changes for next season with Kessie leaving to join Barcelona and Aldi and Pobega returning.
A name that has been linked to AC Milan in recent years is that of Chelsea star Jorginho. The Italy international enjoyed a fantastic spell last season winning the European Champions with his national team and the Champions League with the Blues.
Jorginho was supposed to extend his contract (expires in 2023) with Chelsea but the turmoil that has followed after the British government imposed sanctions on president Abramovich has changed everything. Talks are now off and the 30-year-old midfielder could leave the Premier League club as hinted by his agent.
“There are many clubs interested in Jorginho. In the past I spoke with PSG, Barcelona, and also with AC Milan with Massara. I don’t know if they want him now. I also speak with Massara but I don’t know if they are still interested. The reality, however, is that nothing can be done right now. Chelsea cannot sell, buy or renew contracts. Jorginho still has a contract until June 2023. For him, playing in Serie A again would be a dream. His heart is there.“, said Joao Santos.
Jorginho’s agent reveals he is still in contact with AC Milan sporting director. The Rossoneri are currently looking a replacement for Franck Kessie but rumors have emerged that Stefano Pioli may start to use more the 4-3-3 formation next season. Meanwhile, Jorginho continues to play a key role for Chelsea scoring 9 goals and assisting 3 in 38 appearances so far.
