AC Milan to make four changes for Napoli match

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli will make four changes for the Sunday’s match against Napoli. The Rossoneri need to bounce back after two defeats in a row.

AC Milan will face Napoli after two consecutive defeats against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. Stefano Pioli’s squad is going through a difficult period of negative results and several injuries. At the same time the Italian coach has attracted criticism for his tactical stubbornness and lack of flexibility.

Nevertheless, Pioli has confirmed that AC Milan will go ahead with the 4-3-3 formation despite the recent underwhelming results. Mike Maignan returns between the posts after a one-match suspension that forced him to skip the Juventus match. Thiaw will be rested with Kalulu set to play at the heart of the defence alongside Fikayo Tomori. Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez complete the back four.

The recovery of Rade Krunic means that he will be Pioli’s default choice in midfield with Yacine Adli set to wait for his chances in the second half. Yunus Musah and Tijjani Reijnders will play alongside the Bosnia midfielder. Pioli has confirmed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be absent for Napoli vs Milan but he should be available afterwards.

Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor have also recovered and will be available for Napoli vs Milan. However, neither will play from the start with Olivier Giroud set to lead the attack once more. Rafael Leao will play on the left wing with Christian Pulisic on the right. The big news for Napoli is that they will be without the services of their start striker Victor Osimhen against AC Milan.

AC MILAN Probable XI (4-3-3): Maignan, Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Musah, Krunic, Reijnders, Pulisic, Leao, Giroud.

NAPOLI Probable XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Natan, Mario Rui; Cajuste, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia.
