Pioli makes four changes for Roma vs Milan

AC Milan will face Roma in what will be a crucial match for the Champions League hopes of both clubs.

The Rossoneri will face the Giallorossi tomorrow afternoon at 18:00, at the Stadio Olimpico. Roma vs Milan will be a crucial match for the Champions League hopes of both clubs. The two teams share the fourth spot in the league with 56 points each, just two points ahead of sixth placed Inter. Failing to reach a spot in the top four would be a failure for each club.

AC Milan have succeeded in the Champions League but have disappointed in Serie A. The Rossoneri returned to winning against Lecce but their stats are very underwhelming outside San Siro. For the upcoming match, coach Pioli will not have at his disposal Ibrahimovic and Pobega but Giroud has fully recovered.

The Italian coach will deploy his best eleven against Roma. Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori will form the central duo in defence. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria will complete the back four. Pioli will rest Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw while Mike Maignan will once again protect the goal.

There will be no important changes in midfield. Sandro Tonali will partner with Ismael Benncer and will be assisted by Rade Krunic in a more advanced position. While on paper AC Milan’s formation is 4-2-3-1 it transforms into pure 4-3-3 during the game.

Olivier Giroud will lead the attack in Roma vs AC Milan. The Frenchman has fully recovered and Pioli will not spare him. The veteran striker will be supported by Rafael Leao and Brahim Diaz. The Spanish attacking midfielder has mostly been used on the right flank in the recent games.

ROMA Probable XI (3-4-2-1): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Zalewski, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola; Solbakken, Pellegrini; Abraham.

AC MILAN Probable XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic, Bennacer; Leao, Brahim Diaz, Giroud.
