Pioli makes two key changes for Inter vs AC Milan

Coach Stefano Pioli has chosen the starting lineup that will face Inter. AC Milan will make two changes to their formation.

Two days remain until the Derby della Madonnina kicks off on Saturday at 18:00 CET, at San Siro. Both AC Milan and Inter currently share the first place in Serie A standings with 9 points each from the first three games. Inter have had the upper hand winning the last 4 derbies but the Rossoneri are highly motivated to turn things around.

Coach Stefano Pioli is set to make a couple of changes to the starting eleven for Inter vs Milan starting from the defence. Fikayo Tomori is suspended for the derby while Pierre Kalalu will not be able to recover from injury in time. Simon Kjaer and Malick Thiaw will form the central at the heart of the defence. Theo Hernandez and captain Davide Calabria will complete the back four.

There will be no chances in midfield instead. Rade Krunic has cemented his status as a key player for Stefano Pioli in front of the defence. At least until the return of Ismael Bennacer. Tijjani Reijnders will be in charge of creativity in midfield while Ruben Loftus-Cheek will provide power. The English midfielder will also try to go up front when given the opportunity to create numerical superiority like he did against Roma.

Olivier Giroud will lead the attack against Inter. The French striker is not yet at his 100% but AC Milan need him and the Nerazzurri are one of his preferred victims. At the same time coach Stefano Pioli has chosen Christian Pulisic for the right wing over Samuel Chukwueze. Rafael Leao will start on the other flank.

INTER Probable XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez.

AC MILAN Probable XI (4-3-3): Maignan, Calabria, Thiaw, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez, Loftus, Krunic, Reijnders, Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.
