6 Rossoneri stars to miss Lazio-Milan

AC Milan will face Lazio next Sunday at Olimpico stadium. A very important match for the Champions League hopes of the Rossoneri.

Five regular starters out due to injury, plus one because of suspension. Coach Gennaro Gattuso in the direct challenge for a spot in Champions League against Lazio in a week, will have to succeed without the help of half his team. Rino must rely on bench alternatives and also some changes in the tactical set-up. The last injury is that of Alessio Romagnoli due to a problem in his left calf.

Here is the full table of the Rossoneri’s emergency room:

Lucas Biglia: right calf problem – 4 months out

Bonaventura: knee cartilage problem – 4-5 months out

Caldara: calf problem and Achilles tendon injury – 3 months out

Musacchio: ACL injury – 2 months out

Romagnoli: calf problem – 1 month out

To these list we must also add Gonzalo Higuain, suspended for two games after the red card in Milan-Juventus. Now coach Gattuso must study valid alternative Gigio solutions for the important match against Lazio. Most likely Rino will use a three man defense. In fact, Rodriguez, Zapata and Abate could play in front of Donnarumma, because Calabria is not at the best of his physical condition due to an ankle discomfort.

The other possibility is to rely on Stefan Simic (not a single official appearances with Milan), or move Kessie in the middle of the central defenders, but in that case Gattuso would then need a substitute in midfield to fill the gap left by the Ivorian. In short, the possibilities are few, extremely limited. Until January this are the only options.
