AC Milan break 66 year record

Great numbers for AC Milan, which continues to amaze with very positive streaks. Better start to the season since 1955.

Few could have predicted AC Milan’s fantastic season start. The Rossoneri won 2-1 yesterday against Sampdoria and are currently leading Serie A with 26 points after 10 rounds, 5 points more than second placed Inter.

The results speak for themselves. In the first ten rounds of Serie A Stefano Pioli’s team is unbeaten. The Rossoneri have recorded exactly eight wins and two draws, for a total of 26 points out of 30 available.

As reported by the statistics portal Opta Sports, it is a record-breaking result. Milan had done better than this only 66 years ago. It was the dawn of the 1954-1955 season.

In that case, AC Milan led by legendary coach by Bela Guttmann was able to win nine times in the first ten rounds. The Red and Blacks won the Scudetto with Gunnar Nordahl being the tp scorer with 27 goals. An absolute record that currently remains intact in Rossoneri history.

That AC Milan squad boasted stars of the caliber of Maldini, Schiaffino, Liedholm and Nordhal. It was the fifth Scudetto in club’s history. A goal scoring machine that found the back on the net 21 times more than Juventus.
