OFFICIAL – AC Milan sign Theo Hernandez from Real Madrid

AC Milan have completed the purchase of Theo Hernandez. The Real Madrid defender has signed a 5-year contract with the Rossoneri.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – The Rossoneri have closed the second summer singing after Rade Krunic. Real Madrid left-back, Theo Hernandez, joins AC Milan on a five-year deal.

The former Atletico Madrid full-back completed his medicals on Monday in Milano. AC Milan have paid 20 million euros to Real Madrid for the services of Theo Hernandez and Los Blancos won’t have a buy-back option.

Hernandez will sign a five-year contract of 2 million euros per season with an option for a sixth. Europa League ban has not stopped AC Milan from being active on the transfer market. The arrival of the French defender is an important purchase for the Rossoneri who have suffered on the left due to Ricardo Rodriguez’s inconsistency.

The signing of Theo Hernandez indicates that AC Milan will shortly sell Diego Laxalt and Ivan Strinic. The Croatian veteran will leave without making a single official appearance with the Red and Blacks while the former Genoa will likely remain in Italy with several Serie A clubs interested in his services. It’s unclear at this point if Ricardo Rodriguez will stay and fight for a starting spot with Hernandez or if he will take the exit route.

Theo Hernandez’s contract deposited in Lega Serie A

Theo Hernandez was very close to joining Bayer Leverkusen but Maldini’s intervention changed his mind. The Rossoneri legend convinced Theo on Elliot’s project offering him a starring role in the new AC Milan. The 21-year-old left back was so impressed by Maldini that he decided to reject offers from Leverkusen and Napoli, two teams that will play in Champions LEague, and join AC Milan instead.
