Lyon confirm Milan target sale

Lyon president Aulas confirms that AC Milan target Nabil Fekir will be sold this summer. Lyon value the attacking midfielder at €35-40 million.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – France Football reported recently that AC Milan had expressed their interested in Nabil Fekir with the Rossoneri already in contacts with the player’s agents. The Lyon star has a contract expiring in June 2020 and is therefore destined to leave this summer or else the French clubs risks losing him for free next year.

The 26-year-old World Cup winner has refused to sign a new deal and wants to try a new experience elsewhere. The talented attacking midfielder has been a top performer for the pas 5 years in France and interest in him is high.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Jean Michel Aulas, president of Lyon, talked about the future of Nabil Fekir: “We are proud to have a World Cup winner with us. But now he has only one year remaining in his contract. The player was worth at least 60 million euros last year but now he does’t have the same price-tag. Negotiations? We are talking with clubs but without going into specifics. We are talking to people who are in no hurry to close because they want to negotiate well. However, we don’t need money and without the right offer we can keep him“.

Lyon president confirms that negotiations are underway but not at an advanced stage. Liverpool were very close to signing Fekir last summer but pulled out after doubts regarding the player’s fitness. At that time, Liverpool and Lyon had agreed a reported fee of around 70 million euros.

According to SportMediaset, AC Milan had offered Suso in exchange for Fekir. However, this rumors were not confirmed by the French press. Surely a talent like Fekir would be very useful to coach Marco Giampaolo in his 4-3-1-2 lineup.
