OFFICIAL – AC Milan sign Rade Krunic from Empoli

AC Milan have announced the signing Empoli midfielder Rade Krunic. The Rossoneri have paid €8 million for the 25-year-old Bosnia international.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – The Rossoneri have conducted their second official summer signing after Theo Hernandez. Empoli central midfielder Rade Krunic is a new AC Milan player. The Bosnia international was in fact Paolo Maldini’s first signing completed as technical director.

Empoli’s sporting director, Pietro Accardi, confirmed the transfer of Rade Krunic to AC Milan in June and the official figures of the operation. “Krunic goes to AC Milan for a fee of €8 million plus bonuses. We had been working underground for some time and AC Milan had been following the player all year. After the last few games of the season he fully convinced Milan’s management to sign him.

For us it is a very important operation because selling a player to a big club like Milan honors us and makes us understand that we have worked well at Empoli. It was a transfer conducted by Maldini in a short period of time”.

Di Marzio reveals that the 25-year-old midfielder has signed a 5-year contract with AC Milan after completing medical exams. New AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo was the one who brought Krunic in Italy in 2015 on a free transfer.

Although Empoli failed to avoid relegation it was a very positive season for Rade Krunic. He made 33 Serie A appearances scoring 5 goals and assisting 6. Very good numbers especially compared with Milan’s midfielders. Except Kessie, Calhanoglu, Bakayoko and Biglia have rarely found the back of the net this season. Krunic is a central midfielder that contributes a lot in attack.
