AC Milan confirm interest in “new Theo Hernandez”

Italian media confirms reports from Spain on AC Milan’s interested in Barcelona owned right back Emerson.

A quick and quality full back. A sort of “new Theo Hernandez” to be deployed on the opposite flank. According to reports form Spain, confirmed by Tuttosport, AC Milan are looking for a new right back and the management has identified the perfect player.

The right profile would be that of Aparecido Leite de Souza Junior, commonly known as Emerson. The 21-year-old Brazilian defender is owned by Barcelona but is currently on loan at Real Betis.

According to rumors, Emerson is a player liked by both Paolo Maldini and Ivan Gazidis. His age, technical characteristics, transfer cost and salary perfectly fit the Rossoneri’s transfer policy.

Barcelona have loaned the Brazilian right back to Real Betis for two years (until 2021), but the Rososneri management intend to cut his loan spell in advance. AC Milan want to prevent Barcelona from taking him back and then reselling him in the Premier League.

Emerson’s market value is at around 20 million euros, exactly the same amount paid a year ago by Milan to buy Theo Hernandez, who today is worth at least three times as much. In his first season in Spain the Brazilian defender has done really well scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists in 23 appearances. The fabric is there… And Milan wants to (re) try.
