Ancelotti could ruin AC Milan transfer plans

AC Milan and Everton are set to battle for the services of AZ Alkmaar defensive midfielder Teun Koopmeiners in the summer.

AC Milan are looking in Netherlands to reinforce their midfield. The Rossoneri in the summer will have to deal with the certain departures of Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia and the probable ones of Franck Kessie and Lucas Paqueta, if good offers arrive.

Therefore, AC Milan need a new midfield lynchpin. One of the top names on Maldini and Gazidis’ list of targets is Teun Koopmeiners. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has drawn comparison to former Milan star Mark van Bommel.

The AZ Alkmaar and Netherlands Under 21 captain has been followed by the Rossoneri scouts for some time, however, as reported by The Sun, Koopmeiners is also a transfer target of Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The former AC Milan player and coach is also in search of a new defensive midfielder. Unlike the Rossoneri, Everton could easily meet the €20 million evaluation AZ Alkmaar have on their star midfielder.

Despite his young age Koopmeiners is a true leader with a keen eye for goal. This season ancelhas scored 16 goals and provided 3 in 42 appearances between the league and cups. Fantastic performances that have attracted the interest of clubs like Everton and AC Milan.
