AC Milan make final decision on midfielder signing

After Lucas Paqueta AC Milan have secured the services of Krzysztof Piatek for 40 million euros. Now it’s time to think about other signings.

As expected, after the Super Cup final, AC Milan is the most active Italian squad on the January transfer market. In these days sporting director Leonardo has been very busy in the negotiations for Higuain and Piatek. The Rossoneri have reached an agreement with Genoa and Krzysztof Piatek will succeed the Argentine at San Siro.

The rotation in attack was indispensable considering the transfer request by Gonzalo Higuain. Now it’s time to think about about other players that can help Gennaro Gattuso’s side each the top four and qualify for Champions League next season.

According to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri believe that a signing in midfield is not necessary. The good impact of Lucas Paqueta and the return of Lucas Biglia (in 2-3 weeks) have convinced Leonardo and Paolo Maldini that a purchase in that part of the field is not needed. In addition, Tiemoue Bakayoko has improved a lot in recent months and is now an undisputed starter at San Siro.

In the remaining days of the January transfer window AC Milan will be concentrated on signing a new winger. An absolute need considering the very disappointing performances of Hakan Calhanoglu so far and the possibility that he may return in Germany. There are several names that Milan are following closely and important updates should come during the week.
