AC Milan fined for Atalanta match

On Monday, after the end of week five, the Sporting Judge has announced the suspensions and various penalties concerning clubs and players of Serie A.

The statement issued by Lega Calcio reveals the decisions of judge Gerardo Mastrandrea regarding the fifth round of the Italian championship. For AC Milan came a particular penalty, a salty fine of 4000 euros for objective faults. The team of Gennaro Gattuso has been found guilty of having delayed beyond the allowed limit the start of the first and second half of the match against Atalanta.

Economic sanction apart, Milan will not have players suspended or banned for Thursday’s match against Empoli but Davide Calabria and Gonzalo Higuain must be careful because they already have a yellow card each. Empoli will have to do without the presence of playmaker Miha Zajc, who will miss the challenge in question after a red card during the last game with Sassuolo.

After two consecutive draws the team of coach Gennaro Gattuso can’t allow itself another false step. Empoli is the first of the two back-to-back games that the Rossoneri will play away from home. The second is the difficult match against Sassuolo. Hopefully, Rino and the players will be able to turn things around very quickly or else a place in the top 4 risk becoming only a mirage.
