AC Milan have 48h to close last signing

The January transfer window is about to end in 48 hours and AC Milan still haven’t signed a new left back.

After two consecutive defeats, AC Milan returned to the winning ways overcoming Bologna 2-1 away from San Siro. Ante Rebic opened the score after a failed penalty from Ibrahimovic. Kessie found the back of the net with a penalty kick in the second half while former Rossoneri player, Andrea Poli, shortened the distance ten minutes before the end of the match.

In this way AC Milan keep their two-points difference with Inter. Now it’s up to the management to play an important match. The Rossoneri need to sign a back up for Theo Hernandez with just 48 hours until the end of the January transfer window.

Since AC Milan sold Andrea Conti to Parma, the only alternative is Diogo Dalot who in fact is a natural right back but has often played on the left this season. However, the Portuguese defender can’t cover both roles throughout the season. For this reason the Rossoneri are monitoring a number of targets.

The dream of AC Milan was Junior Firpo. Barcelona were open to let him leave on loan but the Catalans ask a high fee of at least 20 million in order to make the transfer permanent. Achraf Lazaar, on the other hand, is an easy option. The former Palermo is currently at Newcastle and could terminate his contract due to his limited play time this season.

Matias Vina of Palmeiras is the other name on Maldini’s list of targets. The Brazilian club just won the Copa Libertadores and were crowned Campeonato Paulista winners earlier. To sell Vina, Palmeiras are asking 10 million euros. The Uruguay international was close to joining Milan last summer.
