AC Milan inquire about the €35m forgotten man of Bayern

AC Milan are looking to the Bundesliga to strengthen their midfield. The Rossoneri have inquired about the Dutch talent of Bayern Munich.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains until now the only purchase completed by the Rossoneri. However, the 27-year-old Englishman will not be the only reinforcement for Stefano Pioli’s midfield. The department needs at least two more new players to be complete. Furlani and Moncada are at work and expect to close another signing in the next few days.

According to Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla, AC Milan have inquired about Ryan Gravenberch. The 21-year-old Netherlands international is also on the radar of Liverpool and Newcastle United but so far Bayern Munich have not been open to negotiate his exit. The Magpies then turned to Sandro Tonali the transfer of which will be made official shortly.

Bayern Munich have been reluctant to part ways with Gravenberch unless an offer of at least €35 million arrives. The price tag is considered excessive considering that Gravenberch underwhelmed in his first season in Germany. He played a substitute role and contributed with only one goal and one assist in 33 appearances.

Bayern Munich invested €18.5 million to sign Gravenberch in the summer of 2022. During his time at Ajax, Gravenberch was one of the most promising players around with many comparing him to Paul Pogba. However, life for Ryan has been quite difficult with the player often being vocal about his desire to play a more regular role at Bayern or elsewhere.

He made clear his intentions in a recent interview with ESPN. “I expected to play more at Bayern, I thought I would have more opportunities. I want to go back to playing, especially considering my age. I hope this can happen in Monaco, otherwise I will look elsewhere“. Gravenberch is part of the Team Raiola agency, which also represents Ismael Bennacer.
