Furlani and Moncada finally close their first AC Milan signing

AC Milan have agreed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. The Englishman will cost around 15 million euros.

After so many names being linked to AC Milan, it will be Ruben Loftus-Cheek the first signing of Furlani and Moncada. Having sold Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, the Rossoneri will immediately fill in the void left by the Italian with the English midfielder. There is a total agreement between all parties and the transfer should materialize within this week.

AC Milan will pay a fee of around €15 million to purchase Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. Unlike what some initial reports claimed, the transfer will not be loan with obligation to buy but rather immediate purchase. Nevertheless, there are no doubts that the 27-year-old English midfielder would finally arrive in Italy.

Ironically, the first signing of Furlani and Moncada is a player whose signing was already completed by Paolo Maldini. The previous management of Maldini and Massara had closed the purchase of Loftus-Cheek in May. However, at that time, the 27-year-old was supposed to be the successor of Franck Kessie rather than the replacement of Tonali.

Loftus-Cheek is quite effective at finding pockets of space and therefore posing an attacking threat. Long recognized as an intelligent footballer with the awareness needed to make himself available for teammates, he is constantly on the move in search of space. When the ball comes to him, he then looks to play quick combinations with his teammates.

Despite his career filled with of ups and downs at Chelsea, AC Milan are convinced that Loftus-Cheek will be able to make the difference in Serie A. He contributed with 2 assists in 33 appearances with the Blues this season. The signing of Loftus-Cheek means that AC Milan have left the race of Davide Frattesi who is expected to join Inter.
