AC Milan legend Kaka pays homage to new signing

AC Milan legend Ricardo Kaka has welcomed new signing Marko Lazetic who will be wearing the number 22 jersey.

Inevitably, the number 22 at AC Milan brings back magical memories. Ricardo Kaka carried that number on his shoulders for six wonderful years. The Brazilian schoolboy with excellent technique and golden feet led Milan to the top of the world winning every possible trophy!

Kaka means and will always mean an exceptional memory for the Rossoneri fans. However, at that time, the Brazilian attacking midfielder represented a mere bet for Adriano Galliani, who brought him to Italy as a complete stranger from Sao Paulo. His deeds at Milan are now history!

After so many years, another very young promising player has chosen the number 22 shirt. Marko Lazetic, the 18-year-old striker who arrived at AC Milan from the Red Star only a few days ago, hopes to follow in the same footstep. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara saw something special in this boy, and the number on his shoulders drastically increases the hopes of having found a true prodigy. Just as happened with Kaka.

At the moment no one really knows how much the young Serbian will be able to contribute for AC Milan. In the meantime, Ricardo Kaka has given the talented striker a warm welcome. The Brazilian posted a story on his Instagram profile paying homage to Marko Lazetic and his decision to wear the number 22: “This number! Good luck Lazetic. No pressure“.

After Ricardo Kaka’s “blessing”, Marko Lazetic is ready for his new adventure in the Rossoneri. Yesterday he had his first training session at Milanello with the new teammates. Today, the player greeted the fans and his former club Red Star Belgrade.

Thank you for my first steps as a footballer and for the years of growth with you. Thank you for the moments of joy and happiness experienced during training and matches in the red and white jersey. Thanks to all the employees of the club, thanks to Toma Milicevic who brought me to Red Star and to all my coaches from whom I learned so much, and thanks to all my teammates with whom I shared the dressing room and the pitch. Thanks to all the fans for their support. Thanks to my family for their unwavering support and understanding. Know that I will never forget you”.
