AC Milan lose battle with Roma for 3 transfer targets

AC Milan are losing a direct a battle with Roma on the market. Jose Mourinho’s squad have already won the race for two targets and are closing in on the third.

The summer transfer window has not started on the right foot for the Rossoneri club. A new club management has been established following the departure of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. Furlani and Moncada are following brand new targets but so far, the only players set to join AC Milan, are Sportiello and Kamada, two deals closed by Maldini.

Furlani and Moncada’s luck on the market has been disastrous so far. The duo are continuously looking at different names having failed to reach agreements for several priority target. In particular, AC Milan are losing a direct battle with Roma. The Serie A rivals have had the upper hand on two occasions and are reportedly preparing for the third.

First Roma won an intense competition for the signature of Houssem Aouar. Jose Mourinho’s side secured the services of the 24-year-old former Lyon midfielder offering him a long-term contract of €3 million per season. On paper, Aouar could have been a good replacement for Brahim Diaz. Same fate awaits Evan Ndicka.

Furlani tried to tempt the French centre back to accept a move to AC Milan but at the end Ndicka preferred Roma. He will receive a salary similar to Aouar, plus bonuses. In this way Roma have signed two highly rated player on free transfers. Now AC Milan and Roma are battling for the services of Gianluca Scamacca.

AC Milan have the name of Scamacca as an alternative to Marcus Thuram. The French striker could move to PSG so Milan are exploring the name of Scamacca. However, Roma are much advanced in talks for the Italian centre forward. The Giallorossi are looking to sign Scamacca on loan with an option to buy. He is set to replace Tammy Abraham following his ACL injury.
