AC Milan open talks for €100m-rated Ajax youngsters

AC Milan have opened talks with Ajax for talented duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. Europe’s biggest clubs are after the two starlets.

The Rossoneri and Roma are ready to battle Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus for the services of Ajax duo Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. Calciomercato.com reports that AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has been impressed with the performances of the two Netherlands youngsters and is inquiring about their situation.

The Spanish giants were very close to their signing this summer but in the end negotiations fell through. The centre back and the midfielder remained at the Johan Cruyff Arena but surely not for too long.

Both players have long-term contracts with Ajax so it won’t be easy to land their services. The Dutch club demands a total of 100 million euros for the two, 50 million for each.

Mino Raiola, the agent of de Ligt, has opened doors to a possible transfer. The infamous agent is willing to facilitate a move to Italy and it seems like his relationship with AC Milan has improved a lot since the change of ownership. The situation of De Jong is a bit more complicated as the central midfielder has prioritized a move to Barcelona
