AC Milan have received a transfer boost for Flamengo midfielder Lucas Paqueta as the Brazilian clubs admits the player could leave soon.
Lucas Paqueta has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents for January. The Brazilian young star has attracted the attention of Europe’s top clubs with Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus, PSG and AC Milan all interested in his services.
The 21 year old attacking midfielder of Flamengo has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 28 appearances this season. His form has not gone unobserved by the Brazil national team coach Tite who called-up Paqueta and handed him his debut against the United States and later with El Salvador.
It seems like sky is the only limit for speedy dribbler. Lucas Paqueta has a contract until 2020 with Flamengo and a release clause of 50 million euros. However the 21 year old will not renew his current and is aiming for a move to Europe quicker than expected. Flamengo vice-president Ricardo Lomba has opened the door for a January departure reports Calciomercato.
“We are already planning for next season. The transfer of Paqueta is a plausible hypothesis, if he leaves we will have the money to replace him with a player of the same level“, declared Lomba. The current situation offers Leonardo the opportunity to sign Paqueta even without the payment of the 50 million euros fee.
The Rossoneri lack quality creative class in midfielder, aside from Jack Bonaventura, and the Brazilian could offer Gennaro Gattuso many options. Lucas can also play as central or left midfielder. Leonardo and Kaka remain optimistic and continue their work to bring Flamengo’s biggest star at San Siro.
