Milan-Sassuolo, probable lineups

AC Milan host Sassuolo at San Siro tomorrow in what has proven to be a historically difficult encounter for the Rossoneri.

After the Coppa Italia goalless tie against Lazio, AC Milan return to play in Serie A. The Rossoneri host Sassuolo at San Siro in what is expected to be a very difficult match for Gattuso’s side. With only two points separating Milan from city-rivals of Inter (lost 2-1 yesterday), who occupy the third spot, today’s challenge is a must win for obvious reasons.

The race for a place in the top four has become fierce in recent weeks and Milan don’t intend to lose ground also considering their unbeaten run of eight games (5W, 3D). Coach Gennaro Gattuso will not makes changes for Milan-Sassuolo.

As always, Gigio Donnarumma who could renew his contract soon will protect the goal. Captain Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musachio form the central duo in defence while Ricardo Rodriguez and Davide Calabria complete the department. Ricardo Rodriguez was rested in the match against Lazio while Conti replaced Calabria in the last Serie A game vs Empoli.

No changes even in midfield. Bakayoko and Kessie will start from the first minute alongside Lucas Paqueta. Franck Kessie suffered an injury and was forced to abandon the match against Lazio. Fortunately he has recovered and is fully fit. In any case, Lucas Biglia is ready to give a helping hand if needed.

Hakan Calhanoglu returns from the first minute in attack. The Turkish winger entered the pitch against Lazio in the second half but for Milan-Sassuolo he will be back from the start. He, together with Suso on the right, will be in support of Krzysztof Piatek.
